Great tune.
This could have been the score for Drive. His “Over the Edge” track is undoubtedly going to be on my Best of 2012 list.
Shelley From Modular Records' Top 21 From 2011
Great taste in electro.
Fave Music of 2011
(This is a cross-post from Palm Springs Beats)
Okay, here we go. I’ve kept it simple this year — no albums, no videos, just my favorite tracks, which I’ve been logging in a spreadsheet all year. I’ve taken this more seriously than a lot of things I probably should have in 2011, but I don’t live with regrets. You’ll probably notice that I only spent about 10 minutes going through and adding pretty much stream-of-consciousness commentary on some of the pertinent tracks, but that’s also okay. No regrets, bitch.
You can download all of the MP3s here. Mirror here. You can listen to (most of) this ish on Spotify here. I didn’t spend any time cleaning up the ID3 tags, adding album art, or even organizing them in sequential order, sosumi.
An aside: I had a lot of anxiety about which tracks should go in my top-25. I almost got a script for Xanax to deal with the weight of all of these multivariate decisions and the endless loop of what-if’s and tit-for-tat swaps. And then I realized we only have 91 Facebook fans.

The Rapture - How Deep Is Your Love?
(Completely infatuated with Game of Thrones. Doing about 100 pages a night.)
Three epic moments.
Here are three epic moments for me from this summer—three of my favorite bands playing three of my favorite songs.
TV on the Radio’s Will Do
Cut Copy’s Lights and Music (with an awesome, microphone-distorting breakdown at the end)
Explosions in the Sky’s Your Hand in Mine
Pure bliss.
Future of the Left - I Am the Least of Your Problems.
Somewhat obssessed with this track.
